About Sedalia Body Shop
Meet the Maupins

John brings over a decade of experience as both a competitor and coach in combat sports and personal training. With a brawler/Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style in the cage, John’s passion for MMA has carried into his training philosophy—blending discipline, mental toughness, and functional fitness to help clients reach their goals.
Since becoming AFPA certified in 2012, John has coached athletes to the highest levels of competition, from boxing matches featured on ESPN to mixed martial arts bouts in the UFC. His coaching, however, goes far beyond fighters. John works with clients of all ages and backgrounds—from six-year-olds developing foundational athletic skills to adults in their 60s preparing for surgery through his specialized “prehab” programs.
Whether it’s one-on-one athletic development, MMA conditioning, or overall fitness, John’s mission is to build confidence, resilience, and strength in every client. He believes fitness is for everyone and strives to make training a source of empowerment, growth, and long-term health.

Holly has been part of the Sedalia Body Shop family since its opening in 2012, supporting her husband John, the owner, in building a welcoming community focused on strength and wellness. In 2016, she stepped into her own role as a trainer by launching a women’s-only class, bringing her passion for fitness to life. After taking time away to focus on her family, Holly returned in 2022 with a renewed dedication and a deeper personal connection to training.
Having spent most of her adult life in the gym—including meeting her husband there—Holly understands the powerful role fitness plays both physically and mentally. Her own journey of consistency and growth during the challenges of 2020 inspired her to help other women discover the same transformation. Today, she leads women’s group classes and works one-on-one with clients, combining personal experience, ongoing research, and the expertise of her husband to create effective and supportive programs.
Holly’s heart is in empowering women—especially busy moms—to prioritize themselves, break through barriers, and grow stronger inside and out. She believes fitness isn’t just about the workout; it’s about giving yourself permission to pause, breathe, and build confidence that carries into every part of life.
